Hi everyone. I have been feeling ill for about a year and a half now.

It all started while taking Doxycyline for my acne. I took it for

about 5 mnths until I couldn't take the stomach burning, and diarrhea

anymore. I thought that I would get better, but I got worse. I

started having daily hiccups, diarrhea, sharp pains in my upper

abdomen, nausea, heartburn, fatigue. A year and a half later I'm

still suffering with this only worse. The hiccups are intolerable.

20-70 of them per day. The Dr's have done many tests and all they can

tell me at this point is that I have heartburn. It's so much more

than heartburn! The past six months I've developed a constant low

grade sinus infection, headaches, weakness, dizziness, skin redness and

flushing (my derm said it's rosacea and prescribed tetracyline which

instantly made me feel like I had the flu, and lasted for days after I

discontinued) I could go on and on. I'm so fet up with doctors. They

think I'm imaging this! I'm not a hypochondriac. I'm sick with

something. I recently ran accross the subject of Candidias and

wondered if this could be it. I went into the health food stor the

other day and got caprylic acid, acidophilis, and a colon cleanse

product. I have eliminated most of the bad stuff in my diet the last

few days. I decided to eliminate everything over about a week so that

I could get used to it. I don't feel better yet, but I have my fingers

crosses. Any input commetns or suggestions? Thanks for letting me air.

Hi ,

I'm new to this site so I was going through and reading all of the

previous messages. A lot of the problems you're having are similar

to mine - minus the hiccups. I, too, am frustrated with doctors

because I have been dealing with this for 6 years now. Every doctor

that I have presented candidiasis to has told me that cadidiasis

isn't a real illness. I did some searching on the web and came

across candidiasis and KNEW that this was my problem. I was on

antibiotice for more than 10 years and after switching to a stronger

antibiotic, I began having lower left abdomen pain which has

eventually led to diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, feeling

lethargic, itching, burning, tingling...etc. - I could probably go on

for pages. Anyway, I have tried a variety of herbal therapies and

was lucky enough to have a doctor prescribe Diflucan for 14 days.

Diflucan began to totally clear all of my symptoms up, however, he

wouldn't keep me on it for longer than the 14 days. I've tried to

get multiple doctors to put me back on it, but they refuse, saying I

don't know what I'm talking about. Anyway, I tell you all of this so

that you may be a little less discouraged knowing there are people

out there that have been suffering for longer periods of time.

To help with your questions - in my experience, it takes about 5 days

of staying on a strict candida diet and taking supplements (or

medicine) before you will start feeling better. Doctors say that

when you start fighting the yeast, it can cause heximer's (sp?)

reaction and actually makes you feel worse for up to a week. Besides

the hiccups, the rest of your symptoms sound like you could have

candidiasis.

Good luck to you -

Laney

I get hiccups too... and the only " remedy " that had ever worked

against them was a spoonful of sugar! LOL So now I just suffer with

them til they go away -- although I must say (and will probably regret

doing so) that they are not nearly as frequent since I started taking

action to control my candida.
