Guest guest
, Before I started the program I was taking Percocet every 4-6 hours for arthritis pain and half the time it wasn't helping much. I quit all meds, except the thyroid ones (I don't have a thyroid so those are absolutely essential) the day I started the diet. At first the pain worsened but within four or five days I was almost totally pain free. I say almost because my knees are bone on bone (no cartilage or joint fluids) so sometimes if I move too fast they will hurt, but nothing like before. I'm even doing water aerobic classes 4 days a week. When the knees hurt now I massage them with coconut oil with oil of oregano added; and the pain goes away within minutes. You could also take OofO mixed with a little olive oil. The taste is a bit strong but it works very well. Ellen [ ] NSAIDS & Candida... >>> The pain gets really tough though without the meds, so I'm not sure what to do. Any experience with anything like this? in IN

I quit all meds, except the thyroid ones (I don't have a thyroid so those are absolutely essential) the day I started the diet. I've been following this anti-yeast plan for almost 6 weeks now, and for almost 3 of those weeks, I'd gone without my Voltaren. (It wasn't by choice. There was a problem at the doctor's office and then it took a while to get the meds mailed to me from my insurance company.) After just one day without meds, it's hard to get a handle on the pain. I think some of the inflamation in my spine and pelvis are pressing on nerve roots. > When the knees hurt now I massage them with coconut oil with oil of oregano added; and the pain goes away within minutes. Since my supply is already compromised, I'm not willing to risk it. Any other arthritis suggestions would certainly be appreciated though. in IN

As much as I'd like to, I can't seem to do without it. Does anybody know if NSAIDS can contribute to candida? I know that > steroids can, of course, but what about NSAIDS? ==>NSAIDS are anti-inflammatory, and yes, it is a drug so it does interfere with natural healing, depresses the immune system, etc. - I don't have time to list the side-effects, but there are many natural anti-inflammatory treatments - I think there's a file listing them. Are you doing everything listed in the Arthritis Folder? > > My Voltaren lists unexplained weight gain and fatigue as side effects. While I haven't necessarily had much of a gain, I'm finding it next to impossible to lose, so that's another reason that I'd like to get off the meds. The pain gets really tough though without the meds, so I'm not sure what to do. Any experience with anything like this? ==>There are more side effects than just weight gain and fatigue. Guest guest
Most NSAIDS & other over the counter medications contain either wheat or milk products as fillers. My son is on a gluten free (wheat, oats, barley, rye) and casein (milk protein) diet and can not have over the counter meds. Most prescription meds also contain these products.
