Guest guest
What happens when you are too too lazy to do any of this? LOL I figure I am getting a workout walking the two flights of stairs in my house 999 times a day. Does this count as a work out? Sure hope so or I have disillusioned myself for a long time.....wouldn't be the first time though. LOL Happy Workouts to all. Guest guest
Jeannette, I can't believe you actually go up and down your stairs. Shame on you. I go down in the am (on work days), go back up about 30 minutes later to get up and then I don't go back up (most days) until bed time. The only thing up stairs is 2 or our bedrooms. Call me lazy, I put stuff at the end of the stairs and then when I go up I have my hands full. Tery (who will NEVER own or live in another 2 story house). Guest guest
Tery: I am in remission though so that allows me to do stairs. My computer is in the basement as well as my wash room, mainfloor is 1/2 bath, kitchen/dining and living room, third floor all bedrooms and full bathroom. If you would have talked to me last this time, I would have done the same as you. I was hardly able to go outside and get the mail everyday. Please tell me, tell me, tell me, did anything come of your dr. appt yesterday? Especially in terms of paperwork for Remicade? I am so anxious for you. So many people have benefited from the Remicade infusions and I would like to see that happen to you too. Jeannette
Guest guest
Hi Jeannette, Keep with the stairs! That saying " use it or lose it " is true. I can no longer climb stairs. By climbing them daily, you are staying mobile, and flexible. It's exercise, all right. I consider getting up and going to the bathroom exercise! ~Rainy Sue > What happens when you are too too lazy to do any of this? Guest guest
I , too, lived in a two story house for 10 years. I thought when I moved in there I was in great shape to do stairs,( and having grown up in the east in houses with 3 floors).I was diagnosed 4 years ago with RA.... and life gradually became hell climbing those stairs...I ended up having a knee replacement done during this time period......extra strain on me....i got to where i would go downstairs in morning to get kids off to school and then try to lie on sofa if i needed to lie down during the day.......we moved finally to a house with a single floor plan......it makes such a difference.......I still have lots of meds, flares, and bad days but it sure makes a difference in my outlook to know i don't have to climb up stairs to go to bed.........Thx Judy in AZ
Guest guest
Rainy Sue: What we can do to move, even a little bit helps. I don't think there is a lazy person amongst us, just sensible. There was a time too when I could not do stairs and it is tough. I hope my remission lasts but you never know from one day to the next. My heart and soul go out to all of you. I just got lucky a few months ago and I am taking advantage of being able to be mobile because tomorrow I could be bad off again. Guest guest
Same here Tery. I used to be on the second floor, but now I am downstairs. My room isn't as nice and is much smaller, but at least I don't have to climb those steps. My kids love it because I rarely go up there. I used to put things at the bottom of the step too. Whatever it takes to make it easier, is NOT lazy!!! It is called self preservation. a ----- Original Message ----- From: <tjones500@...> < egroups> Sent: Friday, September 01, 2000 12:21 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Workout > > Jeannette, > I can't believe you actually go up and down your stairs.
