Hi Deb, Welcome to the group! Sugar cravings are something we've all dealt with in one way or another. Since you say your cravings are mostly at times of stress or around your menses they are probably hormonal or emotional in nature. It might be helpful to go on a bit of a detective mission and find out what specific foods you're craving and how they relate to the emotional triggers that are going off. When you get a craving you can always make substitutes...like if the craving is stress related, take yourself out for a walk or do some exercise, talk to a freind, etc. and try to relieve the stress...same goes if your looking for emotional comfort. Beyend that, get the sugar out of the house! You can't eat what isn't there. ) and if you can't get it out of the house cuz others in the house would mutiny... take yourself out of the house, change your environment. Choosing a non-food related way to handle it will eventually replace the habit of reaching for the sugar/carb foods...and if you must have a taste of something, a little coconut oil sometimes does the trick. It can be creamy, smooth and very delicious! hth, jackie
