I didn't have Lasix, but I did just have two cataract surgeries. Had new

lenses implanted. Here's my view (no pun intended *G*):

I was near sighted. Now I'm farsighted. There is no guarantee

(according to the docs) that you will be seeing 20/20 after the surgery.

People heal differently. I see 20/40 after the surgery. But I need

glasses for close work, including the computer. This is a total switch

for me, because I used to be able to see up close very well. Now, I need

glasses to even file my nails.

Also, I was told on numerous occasions that no reputable physician will

do both eyes at the same time. I have heard arguments on both sides of

this, however. Many thousands of people get both eyes done at the same

time, and are just fine. I guess I prefer to err on the side of caution.

What if something goes wrong? Do you want to lose your sight in both

eyes? And that's my eye docs take on it as well.

Since I had cataract surgery, and since my problem was caused by

steroids, my case is a little different. Although I also have FM. My

eyes were done about 2-3 months ago, and already they have clouded over.

I am going in on Monday for repeat lazar surgery to remove the jell from

the capsules. Hopefully that will take care of the clouding problem.

Again, the doc will only do one eye at a time, so I have to do the worst

eye first, then wait a month before doing the other eye. I thank my doc

for being so adamant about this, though it is time consuming. She only

has my best interest at heart.

I will let you know how the lazar surgery goes. I understand it's very

quick, painless. Even the total lens replacement was painless to be

honest. I was out, true, but the recovery was very easy. The worst part

was wearing the eye patch for a week at night to keep the eye from being

bumped.

And yes, I still have to wear glasses. I find I need them at night to

drive. Plus I would rather see things at 20/15 than at 20/40. I like

the clarity much better. Makes me feel more sure of myself when driving

in intense traffic.
