This was an effect I was not expecting and am pretty happy about. Celeste, The info I read on the internet had a bunch of stuff about the quality of the guggul, a common supplement concern. Supposedly you can tell if it's the "true guggul" if it's dark brown. True? Supposedly the dark brown kind gives the heating action but the lighter kinds don't? Is that your experience, too? All the brands at the HFS are the light colored kind and the employee there didn't see any big deal about guggul except that he said it was too expensive and he cut way back on the selection because he felt it didn't do anything for people. Do you only buy yours over the web? do you get the dark brown kind? If it helps me warm up, sleep better and feel more rested in the morning, I want to try it! in LA "We are each responsible for our own life--no other person is or even *can* be." I don't remember what web site I bought it through, but I did a search first and looked for the best price. This is the product I've seen all over the 'net that is supposedly the one that has the heating action. I just ordered some. Also I am taking it in conjunction with tyrosine and I have since read that there is a synergistic effect between tyrosine and guggul. I've taken tyrosine for years during the time when I couldn't get a doc to give me actual medicine for low thyroid. I never felt it helped me much but it would be interesting to see how my body likes it w/ the guggul. How much of each do you take daily? Did you start low and increase? I know you covered this before but I wasn't paying so much attention then due to family stress. Thanks for your info. "We are each responsible for our own life--no other person is or even *can* be." Guest guest
Kathy, Things are pretty stable now. I still have more energy in the evenings than I used to and am sleeping only 7 hours a night. Last night I did an experiment. Instead of going to bed at 11 PM and getting up to my alarm at 6 AM, I went to bed at 10 PM, had no trouble falling asleep, and woke up a little after 5 AM without any alarm. So I'm convinced now that my need for sleep has definitely been reduced. This was an effect I was not expecting and am pretty happy about. Guest guest
, I wish I could tell you about the difference between the light and dark guggul. I've never seen anything but the product I'm taking and it is the dark brown kind (although you'd have to empty the capsule to tell). The product is Guggulbolic by SynTrax. I don't remember what web site I bought it through, but I did a search first and looked for the best price. Also I am taking it in conjunction with tyrosine and I have since read that there is a synergistic effect between tyrosine and guggul. Guest guest
, I take 1500 mg. of tyrosine per day. I divide it up and take one 500 mg. capsule 30 to 60 minutes before each meal. Then I take one capsule of Guggulbolic with each meal. I wouldn't try it on an empty stomach. I've been pretty consistent with the dosage, but maybe I should have started with a lower dose. The Guggulbolic label says to take 1-2 capsules three times daily. I haven't thought it necessary to take more than 1 capsule with each meal. Best wishes, Celeste wrote: > I've taken tyrosine for years during the time when I couldn't get a doc to > give me actual medicine for low thyroid.
