Shireen,

Are you on disability? Forgive me sometimes I can't remember my own name. If

you are you can go to the SSDI office and ask for foodstamps. And I think you

can get foodstamps even if you are not on the program. They also have a

program called Leep that helps pay your energy bills you need to apply for

it. I think that if you call your public service office they can guide you to

the right place. Another place is call United Way they are there to help you

as well.

Shireen.....I just went to my Human services office today for my yearly

review

of my medicaid benifits. I don`t apply for food stamps but I asked about

them thinking of your case. They told me those who are on SSI are

eligible to receive them .They also said one may apply for and receive

them even if he/she has been turned down by SSI or SSDI or even

disabilty. i`ve mentioned this a couple of times before and I think your

missing out if you don`t look into it.

I understand the brain fog thing, I dont remember either.

I am on SSI disability. I dont know if I can get food stamps with that. I

Thank you Jerry for thinking of me. But I wonder if they would cut down the

Shireen are you on SSI? Your soc. sec. checks are your monies, saved out

of your past income(s). Food stamps are a goverment assistance plan to

help those who need it. Food stamps are based on your income, and your

monthly expenses, not your income based on your food stamps. I`m on SSI

I get $512 /mo. which is the max. I`m also eligible for food stamps... I

just came from the welfare office where I qualified for the 7 th year

for medicaid. I was offered an amount of food stamps, which I again

turned down since all I`m interested is medicaid. It wouldn`t have

changed a thing in my check if I had taken them. These are 2 completly

different government agencies.

Don`t be too proud to take what you are entitled to. After all, medicaid

is granted through the same department as food stamps--- welfare.

I repeat ANY subsidy checks amount are

NOT based on whether or not you get food stamps, but the other way

around.

The same department can help you with

utilitiy bills also.

I`ve had experience here so please do not write this option off, due to

pride. They will not cut the size of your check. Go to SSA and/or your

local human services board and find out, wondering about something

contains no action and nothing is accomplished by merely wondering about

it... I`m really trying to help you here.... you`ve posted and asked for

help.... here it is.

love and serenity jerry

Thank you Jerry for thinking of me. But I wonder if they would cut down the

amount of my monthly check if I got food stamps.

Shireen ..just to repeat... with SSI you automatically qualify to

receive medicaid and food stamps and heating help.. what you receive is

based on income less expenses. You can`t win if you don`t play. You must

APPLY for them to get them! .....the very worst thing that can happen is

they turn you down. Wondering about something won`t give you an answer

......

Again.. I`m really trying to help you here... please take some action...

God helps those who helps themselves...He`s throwing you a life

preserver here .. take it .

shireen,

the amount of your check should not be cut down due to the amount of food

stamps you rec. you are on ssi and that is a disability. i worked for over 6

years as an food stamp worker. things may be different in your state but in

texas, if goes according to your income, resources, your allowed to own a

home and a car provided it is not over the amount of 4650.00. i had to stop

working due to my illness. had a case load of almost 500 cases.

can anyone tell me if a lower than normal temp is normal? for years, i have

had temp around 95 degrees or 96 degrees. not 98.6.

thank you,
