Guest guest
Hi there: Yes, I have been put on Synthroid (2 times now) and have found that I am retaining fluids. I have never had problems before this. I am definitely not overweight (112 lbs now) and work out almost daily but have noticed I have been having to take my rings off from being swollen. Plus my abdomen area is getting the bloatied look...not fat...just blown up like a balloon. I went to my doctor last week for a blood test and I told his nurse how I am feeling (the bloating and the pains in my muscles and joints like having the flu.) She told me I am the only person that has complained of such side effects. I then thought maybe it is just me...being a difficult patient, so to speak. Before taking it one of the symptoms I most certainly did not have was depression. Shortly after taking this drug I ended up on anti-depressants which I eventually weaned myself off but I also stopped taking T4 and I haven't been troubled by depression since. I have also stop looking like an over inflated red balloon! Up until now I have been taking T3 only but my doctor's want me back on this drug and I am very very reluctant to do so. Has anyone else linked synthetic T4 with depression and serious fluid retention?

Guest guest
Is there a two in one tablet available? Up until Novemeber of 2004 I didn't even know that T3 was available as an option never mind a combination of both. However I still feel very aprehensive about taking the eltroxin again even with T3! > > > the med that works is T4 and T3 TOGETHER. > Gracia > > > > Hi there > > > > I started off on Eltroxin (levothyroxine) when I was first diagnosed > > four years ago and remained on it for almost two years. Guest guest
Isn't that what Armour Thyroid is???? Guest guest
I used to get stomach bloating so bad that I felt as if I was going to explode and I looked about 9 months pregnant! It was so uncomfortable but I rarely get bloating now and when I do it's no where near as bad and that is why I am so reluctant to go back on the levothyroxine.
