Guest guest
Sharon, I hear that synovial fluid (from the knee) is one of the most accurate PCR tests. I don't know anyone who has had it, but I know they insert a needle and draw out fluid. Of course he is afraid, but tell him if it hurts, its only for a moment, and tell him to lie down and not look or think about it. Let us know how it goes. Poor guy. No fair teenagers and children have to be bothered by this disease too. Vicki [Lyme-aid] spine >From: " melillo " <mellillo1@...> > >Add me to the messed up spine but I had no thought it was lyme. Guest guest
Hi Jayne, My husband has had 2 discs removed from his lower back. The surgery was done by a neurologist rather than an orthopedic doctor. This may be what is referring to when mentioning a " spinal specialist. " Whatever kind of doctor that you see, you should try and find someone who has seen this specialist or had successful surgeries from them. My husband's doctor does a Mylogram as the final test before doing surgery. I think that he said that a Mylogram will sometimes show more than an MRI does. My husband now " jumps for joy. " He can ski, lift heavy things, etc. If you are in a lot of pain, maybe you should see another specialist. Vicki sherman.fam@... wrote: > From: " sherman.fam@... Guest guest
My wife went to see a spinal surgeon. He did a MRI scan and said straight away what the prob was, rubbing discs (3rd lumbar, lower back) He had completed 1800 successful ops for fusion. The insertion of bone into the disc and screws hold them together, till they fuse 6-12 months. The surgeon has had 2 problems, one due to a patient with a defect heart and one who developed pneumonia. was operated friday, last july ,she is 46, and was in lesss pain after the op than before the 2 hr op. She was showering in 24hrs. we drove 300 miles home the following wednesday a.m. It does take 4 months before you can do ' normal housework or lifting' but waited 12 yrs in pain before plucking up courage to have it done. hope that helps. michael
Guest guest
We're doing it again. Snap, Crackle and Pop goes the neck. Mine does that too, especially when I turn to the right, then back to the front position. My spine is a total mess. That's another story... Guest guest
, The lower back pain took my breath away from day one. Right now it's in my shoulders and lower neck, so much pain and brain acting up. I happened to be reading stuff on the internet and somehow ended up following a path and ended up talking to a guy named Randy Sykes telephone number is think you should probably give Randy Sykes a call. His number is 1-860-658-9938 I'm not sure how many recordings they are making or if they are making them as they get the orders. Randy will take care of ya. :=) I'd call him, tell him you're newly diagnosed with Lyme, told you had CFIDS for years and are curious if any one else has back problems as you describe and if so, why does he think? He told me you do I didn't ask why we covered so much ground. He said he doesn't like to tell newbies " you don't get totally well " because he doesn't believe in destroying hope, but he can tell I know things and have been sick awhile. He does believe in antibiotics it's just in Conn. he sees people pretty ill improve but not 100% maybe it flares back up. I wonder what makes it so hard to kill. Maybe don't get all the critters from what I read they go through diff. cycles and of course co infections. I read someone say one lady only had one band positive and she was one of the sickest ever. What a strange disease. Glad to hear from you-I should get that done, too (MRI). I'd love a spect scan of the brain done by Dr. Fallon. He was at the conference on Lyme. So was Burrascano. I'd like to have been there or at the on in New York coming up.
