Guest guest
Hi , I have not, so far, had any problems being on Imuran. I have been on it, 50mg, a day for 3 years and 6 months.. Guest guest
, While on imuran, I developed three xanthamas (fatty-like tumors) on the sides of my left foot. They all had to be removed surgically. I feel that they were caused by either prednisone or imuran, since I was on both drugs for many years. Since my transplant in 1995, I have been taken off these drugs and the tumors have not recurred. Bonnie P. AIH and post transplant
Guest guest
Dear Bonnie, Thanks for your response. The tumor I had was on an ovary and it was producing parathyroid hormone. I was extremely ill and the parathyroid hormone caused my bones to leach calcium out into my bloodstream. This is why I am asking about others who have developed tumors while on Imuran. I really don't want to go back on Imuran because I believe that it caused this tumor. Thanks again for your response.
Guest guest
Bonnie, I have three little lumps on the inside of my right foot. When I asked my GP what they were, she said that it was where the skin had thinned from the pred. and the next layers were poking through. They are not painful. Could that be true do you think?
