Guest guest
Hi all, I wonder if that was what happened to my Dad. Almost thirty years ago my Dad collapsed at work, then started throwing up blood. Doctors operated and said he had multiple bleeding ulcers. They could not stop the bleeding and he was gone about 3 weeks later. Guest guest
Mine also showed portal inflammation and scaring (or is it scarring?). I haven't been diagnosed yet- so I wish I knew what it meant too..... LoriRosenberg@... Guest guest
I had problems with varices. Shortly after I was diagnosed I started having problems with severe anemia. I was to the point one time of being so anemic that I was having small heart attacks. My doctors could not figure out why my blood kept disapearing. they looked everywhere for the cause. they would give me blood transfusions and then I would be ok for about 3 months and then all of the sudden I would drop from hemoglobin counts of 12.5 to between 4 and 7 in a matter of two weeks. finally they discovered the varices and started banding. I was banded 4 times over the course of the year and I have not had to have any in about a year. By the way, I finally had to go to another doctor(they wanted me to go to the mayo clinic in Rochester-but I found one closer to home)the other doctor is the one that determined that the varices was the cause of my severe anemia. --- susan johnson <shireen42@...> wrote: > From: " susan johnson " <shireen42@...> > > Hi all, > > I wonder if that was what happened to my Dad. > Almost thirty years ago my > Dad collapsed at work, then started throwing up > blood.
