Guest guest
I have a question. I just had a hemogram done and my doc wants it repeated because the WBC is low. I think it was 3 something or maybe just three. What is the concern when it is low? I'm only taking immuran. Thanks for any help. Guest guest
My white blood cell count consistently runs about 3.0. Normal for my lab is 4.8 to 10.8. As I understand it the concern is the ability to fight infections. Mine was 5.9 when two weeks after I was diagnosed in August of 1997 and before I started the Imuran. Since then it has flucutated from 2.7 to 3.6. I got flu and pneumonia vaccinations. An internist I went to was concerned about my blood counts and ordered tests for B vitamins. When I went back for the results which were normal, he had researched the medications and didn't think there was anything to be done to improve the blood counts as long as I am taking Imuran. Besides, why are you worrying about this when you've got papers to grade and a thesis to write and loads of other things to keep your mind off your health problems (grin). Guest guest
But hey!! I did get a job! Yeah team. Sigh of relief. I'm working, I'm working. I wondered because my stomach is incredibly swollen and the diuretics are not helping. I think spending so many hours in front of this computer is not helping.
