Guest guest
When You go to the Wish Garden Herbs website it says they use grain alcohol. Mostly it distilled so it should be safe but you might want to contact the directly. http://www.wishgardenherbs.com/index.php?load=contact Mark
Guest guest
There are those people that have celiac who find distilled grain alcohol is OK; but for others like myself it is not at all. Personally I would avoid all alcohol containing tinctures and do. I used to use them and wondered why they didn't work very well for me whereas freshly brewed herbs and powdered herbs in capsules did. Now I know why. Ditto with alcohol containing homeopathics, Bach flower essences etc.Bea From: Mark Morley <1grnthmb@...>Subject: [ ] Re:Alcohol and gluten Date: Sunday, November 16, 2008, 9:38 AM When You go to the Wish Garden Herbs website it says they use grain alcohol. Guest guest
Like Bea, I react to all alcohol distilled from gluten-containing grains. I know we’re not *supposed* to, but I do. I think it just depends on how sensitive you are… From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Beatrice Garth Sent: Sunday, November 16, 2008 1:51 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Re:Alcohol and gluten There are those people that have celiac who find distilled grain alcohol is OK; but for others like myself it is not at all. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Thanks so much for all your comments, I really appreciate it. Yes, I'll check with our Dr. But from what others have written, I agree that alcohol is best to avoid for him anyway. That said, does anyone know the best Dr. (preferably in Marin or nearby) to discuss the possible celiac with? Our regular pediatrician totally missed all the signs, and it was seeing a Naturopathic Doctor who found his gluten reaction. My mom also can't do gluten, but neither she or my son have been tested after doing so much better after being off gluten. I seem to do fine, and have had the blood test that showed negative. Thanks again!
