Café Gratitude Location: 2400 on St at 20th, in SF; 1336 9th Ave, at Irving, which is near Golden Gate; and 1730 Shattuck Ave at Virginia, in Berkeley. Red Bhutanese Rice (delicious) and quinoa are cooked. Guacamole, veggies, etc. Almost everything is naturally gluten-free. ~$15-20 for dinner. Sit at the bar and get samples of the smoothies! Sample the progressive, hippie, artist side of SF. Some dishes need substitutions, but the staff is very helpful in doing this. Get the Large Combination Appetizer and have them sub Baba Ghanoush for the Tabuleh (bring your own sub for the pita bread!). Staff always very helpful but you must be careful as they serve mostly pizza and pasta.
