Hi Gail,

I saw you on a recent list as a new member, so welcome to the group.

We have one other regular poster, " Titch " from the UK...we continue

to share our experiences worldwide...wow. I hope you will tell us a

little more about yourself when you can.

I assume, and I may be wrong, that you have, or suspect you are

having pain related to your old scoliosis fusion and that is one of

the reasons you are on Neurontin?

I am not on it myself..but in a recent discussion about various

medications I went on an " internet hunt " and located a document put

out by the American Chronic Pain Assoc. which is one of the most

comprehensive, easy to read documents that lists most of the

medications I see people mention here most frequently.

You can access it from the " links " section on the left hand column

of the main site.

If you look around page 25-26 you will see that they state that

Neurontin was originally created as an anti-seizure medication. It

was later recognized as effective in controlling pain in folks who

had ongoing pain from shingles. In the US it is also used " off

label " to control neuropathic (nerve) pain.

Hopefully you can look up your other meds there too...they list

generic names too..which is good because they are marketed under

different names in the UK.

Hope this helps, Cam
