Guest guest
, I got the okay to drive after my 8 week visit...I was off all narcotics and Dr Rand was pretty familiar with the driving situation for me here. I think you will find he discourages any driving that encourages twisting at this point in your healing...for instance trying to paralell park or even drive in traffic that requires merging where you might have to look behind you. I suppose you also have to consider that the more you drive the greater the risk of being involved in an accident...and at this point in your healing that could be a bad thing. I would also encourage you to just go get in the drivers side and get a feel for what you are going to be up against...it all feels very different...different even than what sitting you have been doing in the passenger side. I know Martha found some great rear view mirror extenders that I probably would have sprung for if I was ever driving in highway traffic in the early going. Always best to check with the " home office " first! Cam p.s. I am glad you invited and Priscilla to stop by...you are right it was the right thing to do! Guest guest
---Cam, Thanks.I appreciate some of the tips..I have gone out to the car a few times....don't ask me why..I was bored during the day and went out to the garage and found it really weird getting in the drivers seat.....the extenders sound interesting. I just can't imagine what driving is going to be like again. I don't think I will push it, I will check with the " home office " on my March 16th visit. Priscilla has called to check on me the past few weeks, I don't think i;ll push it with asking her about driving, she;ll think i'm nuts. I feel like I am going nuts hanging out here at the house now that I am feeling better....,PA In , " cammaltby " <cammaltby@...> wrote: > > , > > I got the okay to drive after my 8 week visit...I was off all > narcotics and Dr Rand was pretty familiar with the driving situation > for me here.
