Guest guest
what is the name of the Vietnamese place in the castro? maybe i missed that one! if somoone could tell me a little about it that would be awesome.also, there is a place in the marina that is trying to offer gf items...its called lettus cafe (with an umlaut over the u.) they use wf tamari and list foods as gf. the chef sasha is knowledgeable and willing to learn more. they offer lots of salads and smoothies, but also have list entrees as gf. it is possible to get things vegan and gf too! i am also allergic to cilantro (very severly) so i have not tried anything due to fear of cross contamination, being that they use a lot of it.----- Original Message ----From: seamaiden399 <seamaiden399@...> Sent: Wednesday, September 3, 2008 9:51:08 PMSubject: [ ] Re: Pizza in SF I really feel like Portland, Oregon and New York are much better as far for GF options than San Francisco... at least we have Mariposa in Oakland, but it's a bit far from Sunnyvale... I still want to go to the Vietnamese place on Castro- maybe that will change my mind. Hey, has anyone had a good experiences with any vegetarian restaurants in San Francisco? I haven't really tried, but this weekend I had yummy vegan food in Eugene, Oregon and I realized how much I missed that kind of cuisine. I know it can often be better for us because the chefs are used to "alternative" dining. Any recommendations? - --- In , Stiavetti <steph@...> wrote: > > It's funny that over the past year, there's been a comment from almost > every part of the Bay Area lamenting that there's better GF food > elsewhere. Guest guest
Zadin's is the Castro restaurant; it is at 18th and Noe. You can get gluten free onion rings and fried calamari! They also serve gluten free beer. The menu identifies what dishes are gluten free and they do not use any gluten flours; I believe the only items with gluten are a couple of sauces. We have eaten there about three times with no problems.
