Guest guest
Hi everyone - I just want to thank everyone who responded to my post regarding my kindergartner's classroom cooking projects. I met with the teacher and director. The teacher was wonderful and very open to being educated about 's condition and trying some GF recipes in the classroom. Unfortunately, the director was not and left halfway through the meeting. I'm not sure what'll happen now since all of our plans have to get through the administration, but at least I know my daughter's teacher is on our side and that will make getting through the rest of the year much easier. I'm prepared to keep her home when I need to and work with the teacher when I can. It really helped me to know I had the support of the celiac community when I went in to the meeting. Next year we'll be at a public school and they are already trying to work with me and find out how they can make things work for (my older child is there now). After reading the last post about 504 plans, I'm thinking about having one in place just to spell things out and make sure everyone is clear on how best to help my daughter. Thanks everyone!
