Guest guest
Hi Franca! Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary and, like you ,I am relieved it is mostly behind me. I am glad to hear that you are doing well. I felt like after I got past the 10 months mark things started to feel much better...more solid somehow...was that true for you too? I hope you have luck with screw resolving itself. I know DianneS (from R.I.) told me recently that she was surprised that at about 18 months stuff that had been painful just stopped...so she felt it was right to not jump to conclusions too soon about what was going to be problematic too soon. You still may have some healing to do to...who knows? I hope you will keep checking in from time to time....it always helps to get perspective! Take Care, Cam
Guest guest
I'd like to second the fact that it can take a long time for hardware pain to settle. I really though that I'd never get used to my revision rods - the originals never bothered me in any way, but the USS rods used in the revision creaked and groaned and were terribly uncomfortable much of the time even when I wasn't getting spasms around them. I really thought I was going to have to ask to have them removed, no matter that the idea of being unsupported was not a nice one. But some time around the 15-18 month mark it all just settled down and I stopped feeling them ) Franca, I'm so glad to hear that it's all going well for you other than that screw! titch-- Something unknown is doing we don't know what
Guest guest
Yes! things are getting more solid now, I dont feel all that movement and snaping. I am feeling more confidant now and I am moving better without tweeking anything, I am glad you told me about DianneS because I was planing on having the screw removed around June, since Dr Rand said he would, but maybe I should wait a bit longer? I gues when I see him in April I'll talk to him about it. I will check in from time to time because I know that people going through this want to know how others are doing after their surgery, as do I. > > Hi Franca! > > Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary and, like you ,I am relieved it is > mostly behind me. Guest guest
Thank you, titch...On my six mth visit I complained, well not realy complained, just said that I was feeling all sorts of things. pain, pinching, movement and other things, but the Dr said it's normal for the first year to feel all sorts of diferent things. I am not sure if I should wait 18mths or longer to see if I feel better. Right now I am taking 2 50mg of tramadol twice a day for this #*# pain in the but screw. But like I told Camm I will see what Dr Rand say's for my one year visit. Thanks again oojack! > > I'd like to second the fact that it can take a long time for hardware pain > to settle.
