Guest guest
Here is one more story of the old days...In 1962 (6th grade) when I had my first Harrington Rod surgery, they didn't have intercoms, but did have those big reel to reel tape recorders. My teacher would tape my classes, give the take to my brother on the bus, and then I would listen to it the next day, and then send it back. My mother had been a teacher, so between Mom and the school, I was able to continue on with my class. I had another surgery in 1964, and I'm kind of a blank on that, but they passed me, so I must have done ok!! My mom sure had her hands full being both my caretaker and teacher...I have a newspaper article around here somewhere about my surgery...big news in Iowa....so I'll see if I can find it and post it.
