Guest guest
wats! doggone canola oil! oh well, now i can quit dreaming about those particular donuts--although i would try them if put in front of me. sonya Re: Re: The China Project/donuts Sonya, I, too, live in NYC and (unlike ) have lapses in good judgment when eating out and about. I know the " healthy " donuts you are referring too--they are sold for about $3 a pop at high-end delis and bakeries. They are delicious and come in flavors like pistachio and cinnamon apple. Healthy, in this case, means organic ingredients, including a lovely deep fry in CANOLA oil. I wouldn't make a special effort to find these puppies!!! ************************** No, sorry, can't help you! Must stay 50 miles away from all donuts, especially " healthy " ones! Guest guest
Hey, How about fry bread? Make it with sour dough starter, whole wheat, honey, yeast and salt, Deep fry in favorite oil and it tastes like doughnuts. My husband is a fry bread nut and we're about to start experimenting with this ourselves. I'll let you know how it goes! Guest guest
You should be able to find donuts like this in any health food store that has a bakery section. Try a Whole Foods/subsidiaries. I wouldn't bother with them, personally. Guest guest
Well I broke down and bought the Kinnikinnick chocolate dipped donuts from Safeway on Webster.Thank goodness they were on sale. So I got 6 donuts for $5.99 from $7.39. Ouch!!They are ok if you microwave them for 10 seconds. Not fluffy, more dense than anything else, but reasonable.I kinda miss coffee and pastries in the morning. But I will get over it.Melita
