Guest guest
On going saga with Lyn seems she is fighting with every-one. Not just us. Also found she has been out of medication for some time (needs it NOW) and she is trying to get it through the county where she lives. They say she needs to wait for something before they can prescribe. Think I will try to talk to them tomorrow. Guest guest
Hi Shari, I picked this one part of your post out because I can identify with it. We don't have an oven either. Nor a working fridge (use the freezer as an " ice box " ) or clothes dryer. All went " out " over time, and in our financial situation, cannot replace. But it sure has taught us how to eat better, eat raw and veggie, and to utilize what our Creator supplied. Lots of veggies, lots of sunshine and wind for the drying of laundry. What a long strange trip it's been! Guest guest
I got the chocolate cake, decorated, for a birthday once. I live in Palo Alto, so I got it directly from Hanna at Kapcakes. She really knows her way around GF cake! From: <kristin_boston@...>Subject: [ ] birthday cake Date: Monday, October 20, 2008, 11:01 AM I have a report on birthday cakes. I purchased an amazing birthday cake from Mariposa this past weekend. It was actually baked by Kapcakes, a GF bakery in Palo Alto, and delivered to Mariposa in the Easy Bay. It was a white cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberry filling and was absolutely delicious. It blew away even the gluten-eating guests. This is a great adult birthday cake. I was looking for something that was gourmet and tasty (no food-colored bad aftertaste frosting). And of course, gluten-free. Mariposa said that if you gave them time they could add some writing to the top of the cake. One piece was pretty filling. Highly recomended. The only drawback was the price ($35) for the 8-inch double layer cake. But totally worth it. They have 3 kinds of cake. Here is a description of each of the cakes: 8" two-layer cakes (frosted), Gluten-free ($35): - White cake with cream cheese frosting and rasberry filling- Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting 8" single-layer cake (not frosted), Gluten-free & Dairy-free ($18): - Torta Regina with chocolate, hazelnut and citrus zest Cheers, ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ __
Guest guest
Hi Di I have used the Glebe Farm organic gluten free chocolate cake mix for a friends cake.. It worked really well. The mix is sold at Waitrose in their Free From section.. I know it is definately GF and think that it was cassein free.. It ended up as a moiste chocolate cake which tasted OK. The recipe requires three eggs and margarine with the mix.. so this is why I am thinking that it was CF too. Guest guest
Hi Di So excited that there ia another Scotson Family.. the first exercises are really simple to learn.. the technical bit is about going slow and very gentle... A top tip is to get a soft kitchen sponge and practice putting just enough pressure on it to compress only the top 2- 5 mm to a very slow count of one thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four thousand., five thousand. and then to vey slowly release the pressure over the same count...to allow the sponge to return to its normal shape... I so loved learning the first exercise and doing them on Tatijana,, as I had found over loads of years of chasing " cures " I had shut down my emotions towards her.. and we really reconnected at a heart level again.. which of course has benefitted us both. Really looking forward to hearing your good and positive news soon too. Guest guest
HI Esme You have raised a really powerful point here.. I think us Mum's need to celebrate our intuitiveness with our little special stars.. and the way that we are able to find a way that works for them.. even if it is slightly off the track of what is normally done. I am pleased that you too are noticing the heart connection deepening with Rose. Best Wishes Tracey On Sun, Feb 28, 2010 at 7:48 PM, Esme Willcocks <esmewillcocks@...> wrote: I fully agree with you Tracey, the bond that is growing between Rose and I is incredible. I do six out of the eight exercises whilst Rose is actually standing. The front ones are all done with me sat behind her as she stands playing on the computer. Rose is quite a wriggler and it is far easier for me doing the exercises this way whilst she is distraced with the PC. They are done without a sponge or towel (I did try using a towel but when you are doing them stood up, the towel just fell on the floor every time I paused!!). said that this way would work just as well. Her theory is that it's better doing the exercises this way than not at all. Regarding the final two back exercises, Rose lays on the sofa. These are not quite as successful as she doesn't have the PC to distract her, but at least we are giving them a go!! I've no doubt that with time, she will get used to the idea and will lay still for me (fingers crossed anyway!!).
