Guest guest
WF in SOMA has GF cupcakes? I've never even seen a GF cupcake . . . sigh. I mostly go WF in Sebastopol. I'm sorry you had such mediocre meals in SF. Better luck next time. H. Guest guest
I meant to add that I sometimes go to the WF that's at the edge of Russian Hill. I've never seen GF cupcakes there, either. Perhaps I haven't known where to look. Has anyone else seen them there? Again, I hope her luck on meals is better the next time she visits SF. H. Guest guest
FYI: the ice cream parlor at Ghiardelli Square does have an allergen info sheet that is supposed to be kept at the register where you order. We ask for the manager there so that someone makes sure the sundae maker doesn't stick a cookie on the ice cream on auto pilot, but despite having to send a few things back over the years (cookie on top) we've never been glutened there. Guest guest
I'm sorry the SF trip was a bust. My husbandand I had a better experience tonight at Amici's in San . The gf pizza was awesomeI had spicy sausage, mushrooms and freshbasil. It was so nice to have a soft chewycrust, although the toppings were skimpyespecially for $4.75 extra for the gf crust. Really nice to have the pizza oven taste andthe Redbridge. Nice experience! **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Dining, Movies, Events, News & more. Guest guest
WF in SOMA has a ton of gf goodies in the freezer, including a variety of cookies and cakes and pies and rolls. Plus there are a ton of non-frozen gf items on the regular shelves, including delicious cookies and crackers. While my family loves Cafe Gratitude -- and my 4 and 7 year old kids love love love the "pizza" -- if you're not an adventurous eater, it definitely isn't the place for you! But San Francisco has a million gf options - we live here and eat out regularly and have found that good restaurants easily accommodate me -- or have plenty of naturally gf items that I don't need any special accommodation. Rainforest Cafe is not on my list of "good" restaurants! (Though I am surprised that they don't have at least a small gf menu, since they are a chain and it seems chains often have one.) In any case, I wouldn't let this one experience sour anyone else on eating gf in SF. It really is an easy thing to do. **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Guest guest
At the SoMa location, they were in a refrigerated area at the bakery counter. It was an uncovered case, and the cupcakes were about shin level. We wouldn't have noticed them, except that we asked the woman behind the counter if they had any GF baked goods, and she told us that the cupcakes were the only non-frozen GF items that they had there. -Joe flatcat9@... wrote: > > I meant to add that I sometimes go to the WF that's at the edge of > Russian Hill. Guest guest
Funny- this inspired me to go to Cafe Gratitude tonight. I LOVE that " pizza, " haha. But if you're ordering it and really wanting a traditional cheese pizza- it's not going to satisfy. Instead I would recommend Mariposa in Oakland- they have fabulous GF pizza that is much more traditional. As someone else mentioned- Zadin in SF is also a special and very safe option with a very good GF menu. - > So, we went through the list, and decided to try Cafe Gratitude, due > to the good reviews that I read on this list, and the fact that it is > 100% GF.
