Hi Everyone,

I am heading to Reno this weekend. Does anyone have any restaurant

recommendations and/or stores to buy GF food?

Also- anyone happen to know what the weather is like there? (Rumor has

it that it SNOWED, and here I was nervous about the heat!)

Thanks so much,

Caryn Gottfried

We've had a couple great meals at the Peppermill Casino buffet - the one with

the waterfall.

We go at off peak hours, like around 4:30 pm for dinner, and explain that we

have " serious food allergies " to the hostess, and ask for the chef. We've dealt

with the same chef at least twice, and he understands gluten very well. He walks

the buffet line with me, and makes suggestions. If there is anything we want

that is GF but looks contaminated - fly-over crumbs, spoon from another item -

he has the servers behind the counter get a fresh portion from the back for us.

The dessert selection is limited, but hey, we ate so much from the hot food line

that we didn't really need the dessert anyway. ;-)

Once we even had a waitress who just been diagnosed as gluten intolerant, and

she asked us a million questions about the diet. Made for an interesting meal.
