I have now opened the Restaurant and Business Review Database to

all group members. I hope everyone will feel free to add their favorite

restaurants to the list. I would like to avoid duplicate listings as much

as possible, so if you want to add your thoughts about a restaurant that has

already been added to the list, just add to the original review and sign it

with your initials or user name or however you want to id yourself.

Please don’t change the original review without the reviewer’s

permission To get to the database, go to the group

site and click on “Database”. This should take you straight

to the database; then select “Add Record” and a page will come up

with the field names and blanks. Enter your data, click on “add

record”, and you are done. I think this will be a useful tool for

everyone and help us keep track of what’s up with our favorite

restaurants, as well as serving as a guide for folks traveling to the area.

Finally

I have made a database on for us to keep track of all the great (and not

so great) businesses we discuss on line. You can find it by going to the

CeliacBayArea home and selecting “Database”. I have already

added a few of my own favorites to give you an idea of how the table works.

The

database function on is pretty rudimentary, so it is practical rather than

elegant, but I think it will serve our purpose. The sort can be changed

by clicking on the field name, and the database can be searched.

Since

this database can only include 1,000 entries, I want to limit it to Bay Area

businesses only. If this proves useful, later I will add databases for

California (outside the Bay Area), US, and International (we can have up to 10

databases).
