Guest guest
Thanks for letting us know. I've been noticing that GF is less stocked at that store than in the past (Redbridge no longer in the cooler; no more Ian's French bread Pizza, etc.) so hopefully they are not reducing further... -Luther On Fri, Apr 3, 2009 at 3:59 PM, berkeleymonarch <berkeleymonarch@...> wrote: > Just wanted to let you know that when I stopped at Whole Foods Berkeley > today, they had a lot of Bob's Red Mill GF stuff on sale, some marked down > quite a bit. Guest guest
This may be true of the WF Berkeley, but I've noticed other WF (los altos and Cupertino) seemed to step up their gluten-free products and have more because we are likely to still buy them even in a bad economy. I was really surprised at how many products there were. But, I think products that don't move as quickly as they'd hoped are likely not to continue to be carried. For example, the Sunnyvale Safeway no longer has Kinnikinnick donuts in their freezer case in the bakery section. Granted, it was a stupid place for GF products because I never go into the bakery section, but doesn't bode well... - > > I have noticed in general, a decrease in selection and stocking of GF products over the last year. I imagine that with the economy squeezing their margins, they will have less interest in us - what they would consider a specialty group. > I hope not, but... > >
Guest guest
I would also have to agree that I have not seen a decline, but rather an increase in demand and wider selection. I shop at Whole Foods in Potrero and apart from the introduction of a few new items (yay!) all that I have noticed is an increase in competition for gluten-free foods--of course, I think this is a good thing, it means that greater numbers are considering the possibility of celiac and gluten intolerance which will lead to more people's diagnosing. Thanks,
