Guest guest
Hi group, I'm writing an article for a Bay Area parenting newspaper about family-friendly gluten-free dining in the area. I'll be including this group as one of the local resources for families in the article. I'd like to include restaurants that go out of their way to offer GF options, or make it easy to order for people who can't eat gluten. Thus far, I'm planning to include Flour Chylde bakery (Novato), In-N-Out, Cafe Gratitude, Naia Gelato stores, and Amici's Pizza. (I was thinking maybe PF Chang's though maybe it's better for older kids.) Do you all have other recommendations? Also, I'd like to interview 1 or 2 Bay Area parents who have young children who cannot eat gluten if anyone is interested. Ideally, someone whose child has Celiac, and maybe someone else whose child is on the GF-Casein-Free diet and would like to talk about their child's journey to health through GF eating. Feel free to reply here, or to me directly: kristy.lund@... Thanks everyone! Kristy
Guest guest
There is also the Mariposa Bakery in Oakland that is very casual, although small. I am willing to talk to you about eating out with a celiac child. My son is 4 and has been diagnosed for a little over 2 years. Guest guest
Hi all, I wanted to thank everyone who contacted me for this article. Most of the info in the article won't be news to people on this list, but there is a little about the stories behind restaurants or bakeries on why they chose to do GF. Here's the link, it was published in June's Parents' Press. http://kristylund.com/uploads/Gluten_Free_Article_-_Parents_Press.pdf Thanks, Kristy -- Freelance Writer www.kristylund.com
