Dextrose is sugar, plain and simple, and is naturally gluten free, so that's not why the packaging no longer says gluten free.

They have 'dextrose' listed in the ingredients that I don't think was there before and I think that is one of those weird ingredients we can never trust.

Hi ...After my celiac diagnosis, my GI doc sent me to a well-respected

nutritionist in SF. She gave me a list of ingredients allowed and not allowed on

a GF diet. You inquired about dextrose - it is listed on the 'Ingredients &

Additives Allowed on a Gluten Free Diet. " So, according to her comprehensive

and well-researched list, dextrose would be okay.

Hope that helps,

mosswood

Dextrose can be made from corn or wheat, you'd have to check with the company.LynnOn Mar 9, 2009, at 10:34 AM, coralibra88 wrote:Hi ...After my celiac diagnosis, my GI doc sent me to a well-respected nutritionist in SF. If a product is made from wheat, it must be declared on the label re: FDA

regulation. This is not true of the other gluten grains, but is true of wheat as

one of the top 8 allergens.

Also, I believe that dextrose is one of the substances (like vinegar) that

undergoes so much processing there is believed to be no more gluten left in the

product. It appears in many, many reliable gluten-free lists. Dextrin is more

questionable, as I understand it.
