Guest guest
Thank you so much for your Nola restaurant review, Vic! Question for you: Was there a gluten-free brownie on the menu (you mentioned you skipped the brownie). I was so interested in eating there, I requested Nola to email me their gluten-free menu (no desserts were mentioned). (Color me clueless - I do not know how to attach a file to this email or even if we are allowed to attach anything in our emails). Instead, here are their g-f menu items. P.S. I do not like seafood or fish, but the restaurant said I could substitute chicken in most of the dishes. Guest guest
Thanks for getting that information. My wife loves the sound of the GF menu at Nola. But three questions come to mind:1. Has anybody asked them what they do to prevent cross-contamination? 2. Do they make all of their sauces (for example, the jerk mixture) from scratch or do they buy them?3. Do they know their spices are gluten free? Guest guest
Great questions! You should go to their website and email the NOLA restaurant these questions. It would be great for them to see that their gluten-free menu is generating a big interest with a lot of people. There were about 5 email addresses listed - I emailed the general manager and one other person at NOLA. When you get a response, please post as I am sure everyone would like to know! Guest guest
Sue, Thank you for the question. The Brownie was not GF. My modified order was for the chocolate sauce and the vanilla ice cream. I really couldn't find anything else on the dessert menu that came close to GF, but there was certainly nothing wrong with the ice cream and chocolate sauce!! Give the place a try. It has a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Vic > > > > I had an excellent dinner at Nola in Palo Alto (535 Ramona).
