Thank you so much for your Nola restaurant review, Vic! Question for you: Was

there a gluten-free brownie on the menu (you mentioned you skipped the brownie).

I was so interested in eating there, I requested Nola to email me their

gluten-free menu (no desserts were mentioned). (Color me clueless - I do not

know how to attach a file to this email or even if we are allowed to attach

anything in our emails). Instead, here are their g-f menu items.

P.S. I do not like seafood or fish, but the restaurant said I could substitute

chicken in most of the dishes.

Nola Gluten-Free Menu

Appetizers and Salads:

Oysters on the Half Shell

Black & Blue Ahi Tacos

Grilled Jerk Chicken Skewers

Nola B.L.T. Wedge Salad

Spring Citrus Salad

Entrees:

Spicy Seafood Jambalaya

Creole Shrimp

Saucy's Seafood Enchiladas

Sweet Corn Risotto with Shrimp

Blakened Catfish

King Creole Salmon

Stuffed Pork Loin

New York Steak

Oysters on the Half-Shell

Thanks again, Vic!

turn right on Hamilton, right at Ramona and park in the municipal parking

structure. What could be easier! The restaurant is between Hamilton and

University - about 1 block away.

the starter and had shrimp creole with rice, one-half side of asparagus and a

splurge dessert of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce (skipped the brownie).

Really, the dessert was not necessary. The meal was not skimpy.

all.

Thanks for getting that information. My wife loves the sound of the GF menu at Nola. But three questions come to mind:1. Has anybody asked them what they do to prevent cross-contamination? 2. Do they make all of their sauces (for example, the jerk mixture) from scratch or do they buy them?3. Do they know their spices are gluten free? Great questions!

You should go to their website and email the NOLA restaurant these questions.

It would be great for them to see that their gluten-free menu is generating a

big interest with a lot of people.

There were about 5 email addresses listed - I emailed the general manager and

one other person at NOLA. When you get a response, please post as I am sure

everyone would like to know!

Sue,

Thank you for the question.

The Brownie was not GF. My modified order was for the chocolate sauce and the

vanilla ice cream. I really couldn't find anything else on the dessert menu that

came close to GF, but there was certainly nothing wrong with the ice cream and

chocolate sauce!!

Give the place a try. It has a relaxed, fun atmosphere.
