Guest guest
I must briefly report the excellent GF experience I had at Walt Disney World in Orlando. After many great GF experiences at Disneyland resort in Anaheim, we decided to try Orlando for a change. First off, I called Disney Dining about 11 weeks ahead of our trip to book breakfast and dinner reservations. I simply told the consultant that I needed GF and if he could recommend some places for me, and he informed me that just about every table service restaurant, including the 3rd party Downtown Disney locations, all would accommodate with no problems, and that it would be noted on my reservation. Check in at each restaurant was met with " I'll get the chef for you " , or fairly qualified recommendations from the manager or waiter. The general idea was: Pick what you want, we'll make it gluten free. Most restaurants carried GF bread rolls. I think Ener-G. Wolfgang Puck's Cafe had GF pasta and pizza crusts. I recommend the pasta - the pizza wasn't that good. The buffet locations: A chef would give me a 1-1 tour and offered to make me anything special if I was concerned about cross contamination. Mickey waffles at each breakfast venue. Chef said he was using Bob's Red Mill. Awesome. Only one breakfast venue had sausage I couldn't eat - every other location was OK. At most breakfast places, the chef would stop by once or twice to ask if everything was OK. Yeah - I was good. Tusker Café gave me a fistful of GF brownies to take with me after breakfast to pack for later. A couple other locations had the brownies as well, but I was already loaded up! On the way out to the airport, I noticed there was an Uno Chicago Grill across the street, which recently went national with a GF pizza option. Wish I knew that earlier since Uno's is now scarce in the Bay Area. All in all, another Disney GF win! Cheers, Joe
