I need some advice. I think I have hypothyroidism. Starting in

September, I have had symptoms. Within the first month, I had

gained 35 lbs (all within a month and a half). Prior to September,

I weighed a healthy 143 lbs. By mid-October, I weighed 181 and had

gone up 3.5 pant sizes. I was dealing with quite a bit of stress

and felt really lethargic. I was retaining water but not as much

anymore. Some of my periods have been late, by about 4-5 days

almost each time. In December I had blood tests done and the TSH

was 1.34 and T4 Free was 1.0. Obviously, the tests show I am not

hypothyroid. However, I have been trying to lose weight and it was

never such an issue. I have only lost 5 lbs since January. I have

a personal trainer and have tried multiple diets. Nothing has

worked. The past few days I have felt pressure on the lower middle

part of my neck. I have felt there is an excess or lump. The

doctor didn't notice anything when I had my thyroid checked in

December. The gentleman wasn't a specialist. He was just a clinic

doctor at the University I just graduated from in December. I have

no insurance and might not until 2-3 more weeks at the least. I am

unemployed at the moment and cannot pay unless it is dire

situation. My mother is hypothyroid and had all the same symptoms.

I thought about taking kelp tablets to see if that helps. I just

don't know what to do.
