Guest guest
Hi all, So, the rheumatologist called and left a message on my cell phone to call my surgeon, that things didn't look right on the bone scan. Well, that is not a message you get every day. I called his office and the secretary said they had all gone home because of the storm and I would just have to wait until Monday. Of course, now I am mad that such a message would be left and I insist that he be found so that I can clear this up before the weekend. Anyway, after a while, he came on the phone (apparently had not left the building). He explained that what he saw was uptake in the sacrum area both veritcally and horizontally and he was afraid that it may be a fracture and that probably only my surgeon would be able to tell if this was " right " and whether there was a fracture there. I explained I had 3 oesteotomies on L5 and a cage and maybe he was seeing those cuts. He was unsure and Glazer will have to evaluate the bone scan but he did think this uptake was the cause of my hip pain. So, once I recieve that scan, I will send it over to Glazer. I bet he was looking at the oesteotomies. Next. I got a letter from my insurance company stating that they were not covering any therapy I had since 4/08. I could file a grievance if I wished. The aggrevating part is that all my therapy sessions are PRE approved. Eight sessions at a whack. What in the world is that?? Anyway, I guess, in their terms I have not shown significant improvement in a short amount of time. Yada, yada ....I tried to call but yet another company has gone home because of the storm....it wasn't even snowing when I called. Don't mind me,,,,it happens in three's right? someone hit the car, bone scan nightmare, insurance disaster. I can't wait for the day to be over so I can go to bed Good news, even though I am now in debt to the PT, I researched my notes since April and you know what? I do feel better. I had neuropathy ALL the time then, face, hands and feet. Now, I have isolated incidents. I was reduced to walking maybe 200 feet at a whack because I couldn't get past the neuropathy even with neurotin. Now, I can walk at least a mile if not more. Therapy has helped me tremendously and I hope to convince the grievance comittee that their money has not been wasted on me. Merry Christmas! and God Bless ie!
