Guest guest
As of last year when I went, after weeks and weeks and weeks of calling and leaving messages, I finally got a hold of the food people. First they tried to tell me that the breaded chicken fingers were safe. Then, after going to get a manager, I was informed that, basically, nothing in the park is safe. I did have one of those lemonade slushie things, and I didn’t react. The catering may be different than the rest of the park food, but if not, just bring your food in. If they question you, just say you have very severe food allergies and you spoke with food services and they informed you there was nothing in the park you could eat and told you to go ahead and bring your own food in. If they give you any grief (which they shouldn’t). just ask them if they want you and your unborn child to DIE. I know, it’s an exaggeration, but it *does* get a much better response from them. On a sad note, it is no longer the Great America of my youth. When we went 1/3 of the rides were closed. All the rides operators were now bored gum-snapping teenagers who didn’t even seem to know their way around the park. I hope you fare better with the shows and exhibits… Good Luck! And if you find something else that is GF, please let us know! I just found out my department is doing a group offsite at Great America at the end of the summer. I took a look at the catering menus and it does look like there *may* be a few things I can eat - but I will be contacting their catering rep to find out more. As alwyas I assume I will bring all my own food and will be pleasantly surprised if there is anything I can eat there. For anyone who has been there, are you aware of any non-catering things that are safe? (ice cream, etc.)? I am planning to bring my own food (and somehow get pre-approval) although their web site basically says if I want to bring my own food I need to leave it in my car and go back out there to eat it in their outside picnic areas - which is not going to fly as I'll be 30+ weeks pregnant and will need to eat regularly. (I know, I can't go on any rides but I can hang out with my co-workers and go to the shows and exhibits). Jean
Guest guest
We had a cone (no cone). I talked to the manager at the Nickodeon (Sp) and their fries were cooked in a dedicated fryer and I asked to get a FRESH batch because they scoop the fries and the nuggets with the same scooper and they sit side by side. MY DH and DS have CD and they did not react. They also have Protein style burger but i did not ask about ingredients or prep.
