Guest guest
I dont think it matters what type of butter you use, sunflour butter shoudl be just fine. The birds need the fat, I believe that is the point, which is why lard would work too (but ew :-p) Anything high in fat and protein that will stick to the cone. corn syrup or other sugars I would think would be bad for the birds as its not part of their natural diet (as far as I know, except hummingbirds!) My son made one in preschool and they used lard instead of peanut butter. I thought it was very strange, but the birds picked it clean!Keri>> Someone in our Scout troop wants to do the typical "pinecone bird feeder" as> a project, but we have two highly allergic to nut kids. > Does anyone know a way to still do the project with another substance> besides peanut butter?> I goggled it but did not see a easy idea besides suet? where to get that I> do not know?> > Could we use sunflower butter and corn syrup?
