Guest guest
My son made one in preschool and they used lard instead of peanut butter. I thought it was very strange, but the birds picked it clean! Guest guest
You can use any vegetable shortening (e.g., Crisco) and the birds will love it! We did such a project recently, and the bigger problem was finding birdseed that wasn't manufactured with peanuts. We ended up buying some parakeet seed. Have fun! tte > > Someone in our Scout troop wants to do the typical " pinecone bird feeder " as > a project, but we have two highly allergic to nut kids. > Does anyone know a way to still do the project with another substance > besides peanut butter? > I goggled it but did not see a easy idea besides suet? .where to get that I > do not know? > > Could we use sunflower butter and corn syrup?
