Hi Terri

My son Tyler who is 18...has both RA and AIH....he had the RA first and during some testing found the high liver levels and then started testing for liver problems....When Ty was 9 he was diagnosed with Crohns...the came the RA and then Vasculits...and some other auto-immune diseases and then the liver problems...he also has PSC...with is also the liver...but the bile ducts....

Ty has been on pred...as most here have been ...the biggest thing with pred is the withdrawl....it has to be very slow....I mean very very slow....if it goes to fast you can suffer with alot of pain....and actually your counts can go up....so make sure you push to go very slowyly....otherwise...you will seesaw up and down for months....and you won't be happy.

Ty does not take Imuran...never has...but he does take 11 different meds...so I am guessing that one or more of them do the same job....Ty has been on Enbrel...and it worked really well with his RA...but then he had a nasty flare of his Crohns and they switched him to Remicade....He did really well for 10 months of that....then he ran into some problems and they stopped it for awhile...but he continued to get sicker and so it was started up again....he goes this coming monday to get his Remicade...he gets it every 4-5 weeks....and he is doing better all the way around....

I hope I have been able to answer some of your questions...hope to hear from you soon....
