I can't help with Carmel, but I could supply names for Boulder, having just spent a week there. (The 45-mile drive to the airport yesterday took four hours and was truly scary. It wasn't possible to turn around and go back. We got the last plane out before the Denver airport closed.) Every restaurant I went to in Boulder was extremely aware of gluten requirements and happy to take care of them. I live in San Francisco, and this is the first time in years that I've been to a restaurant and not worried about the consequences.

If anyone plans a trip to Boulder, I'll be glad to give them restaurant names. It was a wonderful eating experience, almost like old times.
