Definitely – they have dairy free

pizza. They regularly stock a veggie only frozen pizza. Then I take one home and

put on my own rice cheese and meat etc…

They are great!

I liked Mariposa's a lot,

haven't tried Amici's, sadly though, I have finally given up dairy (although,

really, this is a good thing, but I miss cheese!) and I don't think Mariposa's

makes a DF pizza.

My opinion, Mariposa's pizza is " okay " . Amici's is far

better...it tastes more like the real deal. ;)

Just a

reminder that Mariposa has fantastic pizza - the best gf that I've had thus

far, and even my non-gf family love it, too. Great crust and really

flavorful toppings and, of course, it is absolutely gluten free, made in their

dedicated bakeshop. You can order a slice to eat there, or buy a whole

frozen pie (or two, or three) to bake at home.

We were just at Mariposa yesterday (did our quarterly re-stock as we

live in the south bay). Yes, they have a pizza which is just the crust

with sauce and some veggies. I saw a sign for a pizza that had soy

cheese on it but I did not see that one in the freezer case. We ended up

buying a case of the plain pizza crusts as we like topping and baking

them ourselves and use a pizza stone which really gives the crust an

amazing texture -we much prefer it to the baked pizza slices you can get

at Mariposa. BTW we learned you get a 10% discount if you buy a case (12

per case) versus individually. I still make my own crusts from time to

time which are *sometimes* better than Mariposa but Mariposa makes it so

easy to make pizza with the frozen crusts we're hooked (plus our first

child is due in October and I doubt I am going to be up to making crusts

anytime soon- apparently I'm entering the " seriously uncomfortable "

phase ;-).

We are planning to try the Los Gatos Willow Street Pizza today - we will

be calling ahead. We drove down there a few weeks ago (fought rush hour

traffic) sat at our table for 20 minutes, then the server came out and

said " oops, we're out of the crusts " . So hopefully they will have crusts

today :-). Has anyone heard whether the other locations have also

perfected their pizza baking times?

I agree that Mariposa's gluten-free pizza is fantastic. IMO the crust is far

better than Amicis, but you have more choice of topping at Amicis. Sometimes

Mariposa's topping is very very tasty- lately it seems like they've had less

creative toppings, but if it is baked correctly in the store it is still

excellent. I like to support both companies' efforts.

I went to the Los Gatos Willow Street Pizza for the first time 2

weekends ago. They hadn’t perfected their baking times. I got mine to go, and

reheated it in my oven when I got home. Make sure you mention you’d like the

crust more well done or something. I got the Mediterranean style one and the

flavor was really good, just wish the crust wasn’t so mush.
