Guest guest
You'll probably want to call the manufacturer and ask. I use Safeway brand chili powder which also has " spices " as an ingredient but Safeways' statement for their Safeway brand spices/extracts is that if there is a gluten ingredient, it will be listed, and so far I've had no ill effects from using it. Note that for Conagra's statement, they don't really commit to being allergen free at all, and also, they mention they try to list only common allergens, of which only wheat is included in terms of gluten (so even if it said it had no wheat, it could still have barley, rye or contaminated oats). > > The ingredients say " spices " . My husband used this in our dinner and I want to be sure it's ok. > > And, do people feel feel ConAgra foods are safe? The website says they list allergans but purchase ingredients from suppliers and can't guarantee they comply with standards (see below). > > Do your products contain ingredients that I'm allergic to? > Our products may contain an allergen. However, if a common allergen is in the food, it will be listed on the ingredient statement even if it appears in small quantities, and will also appear in bold letters underneath the ingredient list. We do purchase certain ingredients such as flavors and spices from suppliers, and they are required to comply with the same standards pertaining to labeling of allergens. We periodically audit our suppliers to ensure that their labels are current and in full compliance with all FDA and USDA guidelines. > > Sorry if this is a dumb question..
