Guest guest
I strongly agree with the message below. In addition, view with great suspicion any program that claims to "detoxify" or "cleanse". In my opinion, the idea that the body requires detoxifying and cleansing is more philosophical, even quasi-religious, than medical. Quacks of many stripes have always exploited our natural desire to be "purified". H. -----Original Message----- From: TrVerb@... Yet only individual testimonials in support are provided; individual testimonials mean nothing, because causality cannot be proven - people may misremember their symptoms; misinterpret their response to a diet; may have had transient symptoms that went away because of some other change or because the nature of their illness was transitory or because the disease they had ran its course; or be so dedicated to their belief in some alternative form of medicine that they fall victim to "wishful thinking" because they can't bear to admit their chosen method doesn't work. The sites about this diet also insist that the diet is "scientifically based" without offering any scientific proof of its efficacy. It is not scientifically based. This diet has not been scientifically studied and appears likely to be completely bogus and potentially harmful. User beware. The idea that use of the diet will cause worms to appear in one's feces is blatantly ridiculous. If a person did have an intestinal parasite, they would have diarrhea and would only be cured of the parasite by taking antibiotics. http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/UVaHealth/peds_digest/tract.cfm http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/diarrhea/#cause -----Original Message----- From: gemmal <gemmalocatelliatt (DOT) net> Sent: Sun, Oct 18, 2009 10:08 am Subject: [ ] Re: Specific Carbohydrate Diet (Breaking the Vicous Cycle) H, I know this. I assumed it had something to do with a die off, (yeast, toxins so on) and your body getting healthier. I just d not know how or what I would feel about seeing parasites come out of my body. I am sorry it is just gross to me. gem=) > > > No diet is going to cause worms. Worms cause worms. Diet doesn't. > > H. > > > >
