Guest guest
there's another member looking into this. I'm also seeking this info. I'm still hooked on sugar-- I have candida and I'm in this terrible sugar cycle, where the cravings are really intense and have been impossbile for me to " let go " of. I'm HIGHLY allergic to dairy and this chocolate I eat everyday has dairy in it. Probiotics haven't helped ease the carvings and my face is always 'broken out'-- acne, from the inflammation caused by eating candy. When I got my test results back of the CD diagnosis and then the dairy, thanks be to God I stopped eating these foods altogether. The cravings didn't last very long at all and I no longer desire any of those foods. However, the sugar seems to be so much more powerful. PLEASE does anyone have suggestions in what can help ease the sugar cravings, other than willpower, and something that will also help with the acne while trying to completely remove sugar from my diet??? Sugar is drug, and it releases dopamine into my system, hence I'm stuck in this vicious neurotransmitter cycle. What can help me?? thank you!JemmaOn Wed, Sep 30, 2009 at 8:04 AM, terramoto1@... <terramoto1@...> wrote: Does anyone know of any gluten free cosmetics? Guest guest
You might consider checking out www.foodaddicts.org. My sister-in-law, while not a celiac, has Type II Diabetes and this diet, along with the wonderful support system that comes with it, helped my sis not only get off all her meds and stabilize her sugar but she lost 96 pounds. The reason I suggest this group is because you called sugar 'a drug' and it wreaks havoc with your body. My sister-in-law used the exact same words. It's as if the chemistry of your body goes crazy when sugar is introduced. The website will give you info on support groups that will then set you up with the diet, which, coincidentally, is entirely gluten-free. Guest guest
Have none of the alternative sugars (Splenda, erythritol, xylitol) worked for you? You might try making your own chocolate with baker’s chocolate and one of these sweeteners. Pam
Guest guest
these sugars don't " hook " the brain and the body like refined sugar, which is a good thing! I'm already in the woes of a nasty cycle, where the body continues to crave the refined sugar and I give in, etc. etc. Its effect is worse than just the sound of my words through email. are baker's chocolate dairy free? doesn't all chocolate have sugar in it? Guest guest
Hello Jemma, I am also detoxing Candida. I am not an expert but I know that what I do is count how many GRAMS of sugar I eat a day. When I started I was at like 400? Because I counted CARBs too. I am currently at about 25. Which is stil high but I am knocking the number down bit by bit. And soe days I eat a food bar that increases it but its ok because the next day I get back on track. I just try and limit myself by counting and not feeling restricted. I meet with a specialist who is going to help me with CANDIDA next week hopefully! God bless gem=) BTW Ear candling helped me a lot and I know that it removed a lot of my symptoms on DAY one! Like ear pain and ringing. > > *PLEASE does anyone have suggestions in what can help ease the sugar > cravings*, other than willpower, and something that will also help with the > acne while trying to completely remove sugar from my diet??? Guest guest
You do NOT want to use Splenda, either the plain product or any of the products that now contain splenda....it's processed with chlorine!!! There are lots of articles on the web that you can find and read more about this. Xylitol or palm sugar are both excellent low glycemic sugars to use in cooking/baking. > > Have none of the alternative sugars (Splenda, erythritol, xylitol) worked > for you? Guest guest
Gem and Jemma, funny ironic;-)Ear candling by yourself? Did you have someone do this for you? Is your specialist an ND? If you like this person and find he/she is really helping you, I'd be interested in a referral:) Taking it day by day, or moment by moment, is sometimes all we can do. Keep up the good work! I too, know if I try to " not " have something I want, I'll go overboard just by trying to deny myself. I cannot function with that kind of mind-set. I have way too many important things that need my attention. Been there done that, where all of one's energies go towards food! Obsessing about it, etc. I never want to enter that terrain again:( Keep me posted:) I enjoy hearing about positive experiences towards health and wholeness.~JemmaOn Thu, Oct 1, 2009 at 12:09 PM, gemmal <gemmalocat> wrote: Hello Jemma, I am also detoxing Candida. Guest guest
I thought the same thing actually. I cannot use anything artificial. I turn into a emotional monster on them!! No, seriously though, my nervous system goes awry where even dropping a pencil on the floor would set me off into " I cannot do anything right!! " And now I cannot write!! Because I don;t have a pencil. I can joke about it now, when not in the midst of crisis. But honestly, it's some serious crap not to be ingested (for me). Plus it takes days to get out of my system. But, that's just me. I'm speaking for me:) Crazy Horse Jemma here;-) On Thu, Oct 1, 2009 at 12:26 PM, bonniepresti <bonnie@...> wrote: You do NOT want to use Splenda, either the plain product or any of the products that now contain splenda....it's processed with chlorine!!! Guest guest
Hello Jemma! lol =) I am not in contact with any GOOD ear candlers. I was going to a place local but I would not refer you to go there as I had an uncomfortabe experience sooooo when I find some one I will let you know. I know you can buy the materials and do it your self but from what I have learned it is probably best to have an experienced person doing it because they can tell you what is coming out. They can identify the types of fungus or type of bacteria. I started keeping mine if you can believe that! In a plastic baggy to see the stuff as time went on. Its shocking to see what comes out! My daughter enjoyed it too but my dad loved it and thought he was gonna flip when he seen what came out. My boyfriend though? I think an earthworm was in his ears! lol I had a horribly scary episode happen last night that I am not sure what in the world it was. I am interested to find ou if something I ate had gluten but I thought I was going to lose my mind. It was just terrible. Anyways I am nursing my system now since that ...what ever THAT was.. gem=) When I find a good ear candler I will let you know. I dont like hokey places, I like places that are set up like a DRS office and are legitimate. =) > > Gem and Jemma, funny ironic;-) > > Ear candling by yourself? Did you have someone do this for you? Guest guest
oh boy, that sounds interesting to say the least. I'm taking a pharmaceutical grade cranberry supplement to help with Candida but I haven't noticed any dramatic positive change. It takes time I guess...with any kind of " work " towards health.
