At that time I was given what I guess is the syrup (a thick, I think, whitish liquid) to swish and swallow for yeast inf. in my mouth. One manufacturer makes a pill. Another makes a " syrup " . Another sells the straight form of nystatin which is a bitter powder. Let me clarify how nystatin works. It kills candida organisms when it comes in contact with them. For example, if you are using a nystatin syrup and take it in the mouth, swish it around and swallow it, the nystatin will kill candida in the mouth, throat, esophagus and continue through to the intestinal tract.
