Missing Spleen

As far as I know the spleen just doesnt " go " anywhere.

It may stop working correctly and can be surgically

removed without too much danger to the patient, but

never has a spleen just up and gone. Perhaps they

meant " gone " as in it doesnt work its just gone..I

have no other rationale for that statement ehehhee

Interesting! Did yours disappear? I don't have a spleen but it was

removed in 1968 due to ITP, another autoimmune disease that destroys

platelets. In 1993 I was diagnosed with AIH. It has been suggested

that there is a correlation between the autoimmune diseases but not

because I have no spleen. As you probably know it is not unusual to

have multiple autoimmune diseases since the immune system is messed up!
