Guest guest
how do I find out about where to go for colonics therapy? Is there a directory? ---------------------Betsy Zajkobetsy@... colon hydrotherapy I just had my first colonics therapy session. Wow! Had to travel almost a hundred miles one way, but it was worth it and more. I was very impressed with the therapists way; she took her time, explained every thing, didn't rush, her equipment and place was super clean. I could't believe all I saw go through the view tube, it was absolutely incredible - especially since I have been on psyllium husks and senna and cascara sagrada for about six months, plus, more recently, homozon. I left there feeling like a million bucks and my tummy was flat for the first time ever. One thing: About two hours after the session was over, I was overcome with an overwhelming sleepiness, and I went to bed and slept til the next morning....could that have had anything to do with the colonics? After a lot of the dark stuf passed, I began to see gobs and gobs of mucous, then bunches of almost transparent, string-like things, all about two inches long, may with a "y" shaped branch at one end....had to be some sort of parasite, right? am scheduled to go back next week. I'm going to do about eight in a row, then cut it down some, then go to about three times a year. It was wonderful, recommended to anyone. Guest guest
Yes, there is a directory....I did a search on " colon hydrotherapy " and found it from there. If you live in a large city or near one, you might look in the yellow pages of your phone book under colon hydrotherapy or hydrotherapy. However, hydrotherapy alone means something different. There are hydrotherapists who just have a spa, have nothing to do with the colon or any type of internal cleansing. Again, I am very impressed with my one session, but like the therapist emphasized, the goal should be to change what one eats so we don't just build up another " load " of sludge. In the last few months I have cut way down on meat and white flour, my downfall is sugary drinks, but I'm working on it. (Also, in my session, I saw lots of bright white " stuff " . The therapist said she is not supposed to identify anything, but that many of her knowledgeabl clients say that is candida. Sugar just feeds it. Anyway, could go on and on....hope you are able to find someone who does colonics near you, but if you don't, its well worth a lengthy drive, in my opinion. Guest guest
The white stuff, when it's small filling the veiw tube, is considered to be lymph that is being wasted out. Larger clumps are considered to be candida, or mucous. Dale

IMO colonics are very hard on TCM " kidney " , water balance, may exacerbate TCM " deficient kidney yang and kidney yin " . Any unusual high colon permeability will exacerbate these tendencies even more, since large amounts of water are pulled from the colon at the same time as the irrigation is going on, then thru the kidneys as fast as they can handle it. The kidneys will continue to process the backlog of water for several hours. The more permeable the colon, the more intense the process on the kidneys, and from a TCM perspective very hard on TCM " kidney yang and yin " . From my experience, colonics are suited only to the most excess of the TCM Excess constitutions, and then only rarely, not in a series or routinely. It's not the colonics process itself, it's what comes after the process, sometimes for years. All this is multiplied somewhat exponentially by a series of colonics. If someone is constipated, there are much better approaches. If a person wants a complete colon cleansing, imagining they must surely have impactions on the walls of their colon since they've seen exaggerated or extreme cases of distorted colons on the net, they might consider doing the prep used for colon diagnostics, such as the magnesium citrate liquid at the drugstore for about $5 (ask your pharmacist). Most people are familiar with that violent routine prep, and I mention it partly in jest, but if you think this through, you'll see it is not farfetched to consider for every few years, which is about how often you'd have to do it anyway for routine colonoscopies today or the occasional barium enema diagnostic. Followed by a wide variety of probiotics to restore the friendly flora of course. A severe intestinal flu every few years also has a complete colon cleansing as a side " benefit " . Guest guest
I've had colonics several times with no change in health. I often wonder why the videos of colonoscopys show a pink, unclogged colon, yet there those pictures on web of terrible waste in colons???? Just did a two day colon cleanse suggested by Louise Gittleman----cranberrys, papaya, seleumin, and flax seed--------the first two ingredients for fiber, and the last two to aid the BM to move----seemed to clean me out a bit, and I feel good. OFcourse if we used the seleumin and flax seed daily, would get good results, DAILY!!! God Bless, Sara > > > > Did anyone take it? Guest guest
There is probably some value in colon hydrotherapy but the agents they use pre-colonoscopy clearly do just as good a job. Blake

Guest guest
Can't say it hurts as it is somewhat uncomfortable but the end result of colon and liver stimulation goes a long way towards a very complete cleansing. When the liver dumps start to take place it is somewhat uncomfortable as each rush of the bile occurs. It is somewhat like having diarrhea but enclosed and easily released without being sick while it happens. Be sure to take in electrolytes after a colon hydro session as you do lose a substantive amount of it doing the cleanse even though there is a tendency to get hydrated from the cleansing. Guest guest
I have done it and you just feel great after doing it. You feel energized and quite vital. It doesn't hurt at all. Good luck! Guest guest
I have had 3 or 4 hydrotherapy treatments. Sometimes you get a little cramping, but it really doesn't hurt. The most pain is paying $60 each for them. pegiot > > > I was wondering how many people on here have had colon hydrotherapy done or > not......and if you did......does it hurt?
