Guest guest
The following is a copy and paste of all info I could find in a similar search of all the old posts in my email: New Moon Natural Foods @ 11357 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee. Alice's Mountain Market in Squaw Valley Village carries some GF items; Mamasake, in SV Village serves GF soy sauce with their sushi if you ask for it. We have a place in the Village and I would recommend that you bring up as much as possible, especially any special snacks, cookies, etc that you'd like to have. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions about Tahoe gf offerings. We had a fantastic meal at Sunnyside on the West Shore of Tahoe, not too far below the Fanny Bridge, which was a favorite of ours before diagnosis. They don't have a gf menu per se, but they have all the gf restrictions in their computer, and most of the entrees were gf as is. Once the server puts in an order marked " gf, " the chef even double checks the recipe of each item to make sure the meal is safe. And they told me about how they prevent cross contamination before I even had to ask. Highly recommended. Didn't get out to any of our other favorite restaurants due to the hospital stay, but the Sunnyside folk told me that they knew the larger restaurants along the lake (Jake's, Garwoods) would be able to easily, happily, and safely accommodate gf. Yes--New Moon in Truckee has Food for Life gf breads as well as gf waffles, cereals, cookies, crackers, etc. They have several gf cookie brands that I've seen no where else.
