Guest guest
Hi Sue, I'm sorry to hear that your company has treated you so shabbily. Sorry, but not surprised. That's been the name of the game for many years. From my own experience...it's not a question of how you've performed in the past, but what can do for me now? It doesn't have to be a negative experience though. I didn't know what I was going to do with myself after my transplant. After a while, I realized that I could do anything I wanted. I choose to go back to school and get a degree in computer science. With twelve years experience in bookkeeping you would have no problem getting another job in that field, if that's what you desire. In Texas, there are a million agencies who hire temps, you can work as many or as few hours as you want. I'm sure they exist in WI too. Maybe it's time for you to rest a while and then you can 'decide what you want to be when you grow up'. One positive change I've noticed is that companies have come to realize that people 'our age' make the best employees. Statistics show that we are the most reliable and dedicated. One chapter may be closed, but now you have an opportunity for a new biginning. I hope you feel better soon, Barbara Ann AIH Transplant Recipient
