Guest guest
I am meeting a couple friends at Banana House tomorrow for lunch (in downtown SF), so I called to ask a few questions. I was at a Thai restaurant once that put soy sauce in EVERY dish, including the curries, so that was my first question. I explained I wanted to know because most soy sauce has wheat as a main ingredient. The woman on the phone told me that they don't use soy sauce in the curries, but even so the soy sauce they use is soybean-only -- no wheat. The only thing I would have to avoid would be the spring rolls, which use wheat paper. She also told me that she thought that most Asian restaurants use soybean-only soy sauce -- something that hadn't occurred to me before, although now that I think about it someone had also told me that House of Nanking (in downtown SF) also uses wheat-free soy sauce.
