Cream is easy to whip. Just make sure it's cold, and don't overbeat. Add sugar and vanilla near the end.

Sonoma (and others) sell a cream whipper -  a re-useable canister just like the spray cans to whip your own cream.  I've seen them on Amazon also.  I have not tried it, and it's not cheap ($55 and up at Sonoma, $30 and up at Amazon); but, then you would have it for future parties as well.
