I read the ingredients of the Lucy's products and wasn't too thrilled that they contained oats. I do think these cookies would be great for those not sensitive to oats. Crystal Brown On Jan 13, 2010, at 8:31 PM, "Cara" <cara@...> wrote:

Not sure about everyone else, but GF oats means nothing to me. Actually, it means that I have to be even more careful because something labeled GF, but with gluten free oats, can make me just as sick as eating a piece of whole wheat toast. :( I've read that the number is as high as 20% of people who can't tolerate gluten can't tolerate even the "gluten free" oats. Very frustrating.

Cara, I tried to send samples of my gluten free products and had a really hard time. Are they looking for other products? My products are packaged in a reheatable container and ship frozen so would minimize waste for Starbucks. I have Fudgy Brownies, Carrot Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Zucchini Muffins for wholesale. I would be happy to send samples to your sister-in-law.

Hi,

I was SO happy to see GF items at Starbucks! My daughters and I go to Starbucks

all the time in the afternoons so I can my coffee fix, and usually I have to

remeber to bring along snacks for us to have with our drinks. Now, we can stop

there spur-of-the-moment and we're all set. Yay Starbucks!!

Last week, having heard that GF cookies, etc. were available at a Starbucks, I asked a Union Street, SF barista for anything GF. He said they used to have "those orange things" but no one bought them, so they no longer carried anything GF. He was a bit disdainful. I saw some Kind bars and told him they were GF.

I hope we can find out which Starbucks locations carry GF snacks. Usually, I don't go to Starbucks unless I'm in a neighborhood that has no other coffee houses. However, a GF snack would draw me in.

Dana, best wishes on your pursuit of a market with Starbucks. Is Peet's a possibiity? They're a bit smaller, and they have a reputation for being less bureaucratic. (And I like their coffee much better.)

Harper, Thanks for the support. I had a nice conversation with Cara and I would need to be in a completely gluten free facility to market to Starbucks. Due to the high cost of commercial space, this is not an option right now. I am extremely careful using all my own equipment but I understand that some are extremely sensitive.

Sadly, Starbucks new snacks are not an option for me. I have tried the gluten free oats and react like I react to gluten. I will contact Peet's and hope for the best.

I'm sorry to hear that Starbuck's isn't a commercial market for you. They are so very large, so corporate, now, that it doesn't seem a likely venue for someone in your situation.

Funny -- Mr. Starbuck and Mr. Peet were once partners. I believe Mr. Peet was the start-up guy, with Mr. Starbuck joining him later. I'm just going by memory.

Do you know whether all the Starbucks snacks contain oats?

Best wishes.

Harper, I believe all of the Lucy's products contain oats. I shop at the Cupertino Whole Foods and they are sold there.

The Starbuck’s in s Valley of Granite creek carries the Lucy’items and the Food Should Taste Good multigrain chips.  I got the “sugarâ€cookies (they also have cinnamon and chocolate chip).  They weren’t that goodin my opinion.  I can eat GF oats no problem, so no reaction on my end (im verysensitive).  I will try the other flavors eventually just to try them, but ifthey’re like the sugar ones, I’ll only grab them if im desperate.
