Guest guest
This was the entire post: , I have to tell you from my clinical point of view that my observations with most people who " think " they have a thyroid disorder, do not. I know MD's test, etc, but those tests are not valid. That is why one time you showed nothing and the next test you did. Stress of any kind (birth of son, etc) can cause increased release of cortisol and adrenaline, which can cause the symptoms you are describing below, if they never come back down. After sometime of not sleeping well, feeling like crap, not eating, smiling, etc., all your metabolic processes become dysfunctional. This is where the thyroid and T3/T4 come into play. The natural thyroid hormone, DHEA and HGH in my opinion will make things worse because they will keep your cortisol levels and adrenaline levels up. The pituitary gland in the brain release thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) into the bloodstream to the thyroid to produce primarily T4. The T4 goes into the blood stream travels back up to the brain and signals the pituitary gland to stop releasing TSH. If your thyroid cannot make enough T4, you have primary hypothyroidism. This is a glandular bases endocrine disorder, which is actually rare. There is a difference between glandular based and metabolic based disorders. There is a lifestyle counterpart to thyroid dysfunction. When T4 is secreted into the bloodstream, it also travels to specific cells of the body where it is converted to T3. T3 conveys to the cells what to do; increase adrenaline receptors and to burn energy for warmth. However, instead of converting T3, T4 can also convert to an inactive hormone call reverse T3 (rT3). If T4 is converted properly, you burn off sugar and fat for energy. T4 mainly converts to rT3 when the body thinks it is under some sort of stress and responds as if it were in the middle of a famine to conserve energy. Poor nutrition and lifestyle is usually the culprit. So not to go into anymore deep discussion of this, but the best way to get rid of your negative symptoms, decrease your anxiety, and to feel alive again would be to clean up your nutrition and lifestyle habits. A great source of info for this would be to read and apply the principles in the book How to Eat; Move and Be Healthy by Chek or to find a skilled CHEK NLC Practitioner in your area (go to www.chekinstitute.com <http://www.chekinstitute.com/> and call them to ask them to find you one in our area). AS well, feel free to email me with questions or if you want some help finding one. I see this and work with a lot of these dysfunctions all the time. People need to just get back to the basics of eating food from mother earth (organic), stop eating processed foods, start drinking water, getting enough sleep and so on. McMullin SPAM-MED: Re: Looking for Women with Hypothyroidism Chuck, Well lets see my problems started eleven years ago after the birth of my son. High anxiety, depression, Hair loss and very dry hair. I have been to tons of docs that tested my thyroid and found nothing wrong. Then finally found a doc that said my thyroid was low. So next week I start on natural thyroid, dhea and human growth hormone. I hope this will work . I am at the end of my rope. I actually tried to take my life last year because I was not getting answers. So at least I have some hope now. Thank you Chuck B <gumboyaya@...> wrote: , You wrote: > Does anybody have a success story on taking meds for there thyroid? > Would love to hear some! As you might imagine, people who quickly achieve success with the conventional treatments are not drawn to a discussion list, such as this this. We tend to hear from people with more complex issues or who were just poorly treated in the first place. If you are looking for hope, most of us do eventually get back to relatively normal conditions but with some limitations. Please tell us what stage you are in. That way we can focus on what you can expect next. Chuck
